Morning of November 30, 2004

Every morning Shay is John's companion to go feed the horses.  This morning
was no exception.  She had only missed about 10 days of not going with John after
the puppies were born.  John has placed many brush piles around our pasture for
the quail and we have been feeding many quail up under the computer room window
(through the screen).

There are morning visits from hawks, and we figure one of the quail somehow was
killed early this a.m., or else flew into a tree trying to escape.  Storyline:  Shay brought
John a quail.  He checked it and it was cold, so he let her tote it home, and took it from
her to come get me and the camera.  We went out, and he "replanted" it in a brush pile.
Then he released her and she found it.  I missed getting her point on camera, so we'll
start with the retrieve.

I found it !                                        Want to see it?

OK, I'll pose --                                            and, I suppose I'll give it up now.
